My name is Veroh - (Veroniccah Muwonge), a Ugandan artist currently residing in Portland Oregon.
I am a passionate painter and visual artist seeking to share with the world my internal subjective day to day experiences of my life, the African culture and the life of the people I meet. I enjoy working with a thick vibrant palette. I enjoy running my hands through textured layers of paint with colors dancing around/with each other. The whole process excites me.
Outside of studio work, I do enjoy engaging in conversations with people and activities that promote positive change. I am passionate about fighting against domestic violence and socioeconomic growth for underprivileged members of our communities.
A winner of 2005 Ford Foundation Fellowship for African and Arab Artists, my work has been exhibited in Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Zambia, South Africa, Nigeria, France, Germany, New York, California, and Portland OR.
My paintings have been collected by various international figures and organizations including the World Bank and European Investment Bank.
